Frequently Asked Questions
Friendly, leashed dogs are allowed to be with spectators, but they are not allowed to run with you in the race. They are permitted along all city streets, but not within Reiter Park. Please clean up after your dog.
Walkers will have 70 minutes to complete the 5K.
Yes.
Yes, no problem.
Packets will be available for early pick-up on Friday before the race from 10 AM until 6 PM. This is a great way to beat the rush on race morning. If you can't make it then, you can pick up your packet between 7 AM and 8 AM on race morning.
Packets will include your bib number (with chip), safety pins, promotional material from our sponsors, and a shirt.
The location is the Longwood Historic Civic Center, the white building next to the start/finish. The address is:
135 West Church Avenue
Longwood, FL 32750
If we are not sold out, you can still register online on race morning.
There is plenty of free parking in downtown Longwood. There is a city lot across from the Longwood Community Building on Warren Avenue. The City Hall complex, in front of Longwood Inn, the former hospital lot, Clocktower Park, and Reiter Park all have many spaces. Overflow parking in the Sun Rail parking lot and garage, just across Highway 427 (Ronald Reagan Blvd), is also available (Sun Rail does not run on Saturdays).
Yes.
We start and finish at the same location, in front of the Longwood Historic Civic Center.
No. You should leave them in your car or with spectators.
There is a water station near the halfway point on Bearss Circle.
We have port-a-potties near the start/finish line, between the Historic Civic Center and Cottage Gift Shop.
Every participant will receive a tech shirt and a medal.
Every finisher of the 5K will receive a medal at the finish line. You must complete the race to receive a medal. We will not ship medals. Since we are giving a medal to every fnisher, there will not be separate age group awards. However, the top three male and female finishers will receive a trophy in addition to the medal.
In addition, we will have an awards ceremony at 9:15 AM for the overall and costume contest winners. These will include prizes such as gift certificates, prize packages, or cash.
Results are posted live, so you can find out where you finished. If you need to leave early, we can give you your trophy based on live results at 9 AM. The finish place is based on NET TIME (when you cross the start and finish), not necessarily the order of finish.
The Kid's Dash is a non-timed, free event. At the finish line, every child will receive a "Fun Run" ribbon and some candy.
The little ones (12 & under) can participate in the free kids' dash. It will start 15 minutes before the 5K. The run is a simple out-and-back: go out one block, then turn around and return. It is a little over a tenth of a mile. Even the smallest can do it!
Yes. Every registered 5K participant will get a dry-fit shirt.
We will have a race photographer there taking start and finish photos, award photos, and other candid shots. These will be posted on this site under the Photos link within 24-48 hours after the race's conclusion.
Of course! We love seeing families with little ones. Just don't run over anybody, okay? :-)
Yes, we would love to have you. Upon completion, you will receive a finisher medal. Wheeled participants, however, will not be eligible for overall awards.
We will award prizes for top costumes in eight categories:
- Best Group Theme (3+)
- Best Couple Theme (2)
- Best Overall Individual
- Best Kid's Costume
- Best Pet Costume
- Funniest
- Best Hero or Villain
- Most Likely to Go Viral
Our timing system uses chip timing that calculates the net time between when you cross the starting line and when you cross the finish line. The chips are embedded in the bib number, so there is no need to attach a chip to your shoe or turn it back in.
